Sync rights, also known as synchronization rights, are copyright usage rights that allow for the combination of music with visual media such as films, videos, or commercials.

These rights allow for the use of a musical piece in an audiovisual work and, for example, to adjust the rhythm and tempo of the music to the editing of the film.

To acquire these rights, a synchronization license is usually required. Such licenses are often costly and are based on the market value of the musical work as well as the intended use. Synchronization rights are also required for the use of music in videos on platforms such as YouTube.
