Tidal is a subscription-based music streaming service that combines lossless audio and high-resolution music videos with curated content. Tidal was established in 2014 by the Norwegian-Swedish technology company Aspiro AB. In 2015, Tidal was taken over by Jay-Z and counts the following artists, among others, as shareholders: Beyoncé, Prince, Rihanna, Kanye West, Daft Punk, Jack White, Madonna, Alicia Keys, Usher, deadmau5, Nicki Minaj and J. Cole. Tidal is (as of March 2019) available in 53 countries.
