The stores' guidelines stipulate that no generic artist names may be used in the metadata of a release. This applies to all persons involved (main artist, feature, producer, performer, etc.). If a store notices such a name, all affected releases will be removed from the DSPs.

Examples:

Singer

Chorus

Unknown

Baby

Orchestra

Christmas

Yoga

Descriptions or genre names may not be used either.

Examples:

Rock

Hip Hop

Smooth Jazz

Sleep Sounds

Relaxing Jazz

Music for Concentration

Lo-Fi

Sped Up

SEO terms are also not permitted.

Examples:

Top Hits

Meditation

White Noise

Sleep Music

Disco

Christmas Hits

Children's Music

Please note: If, for example, it is a musical ensemble where not every participant can be listed individually, then specific details must be added to the ensemble (e.g. the artist ‘Cabaret Cast’ would then have to be called ‘Cabaret 1986 London Cast’).

In addition, your artist names and tracks must not be misleading. Obvious similarities to other artists or tracks that are not related to your release are not permitted. You must ensure that there is no risk of confusion for fans who want to buy your music.
