With Countdown Pages, artists can showcase an upcoming album or EP on Spotify before its release. Fans can pre-save the release, view the tracklist, watch countdown videos, and discover merch. The page appears on the artist profile, in search, on the homepage, and in the "Upcoming Releases" section. On release day, everyone who pre-saved the release gets a notification, and the release is automatically added to their library.
Requirements
Artist
At least 3,000 active monthly listeners in the last 28 days. Visible in Spotify for Artists: Audience → Segments.
Please note: Active monthly listeners are people who have deliberately streamed your music in the last 28 days, i.e. from active sources such as your artist profile, your release pages, their library, and their own playlists. This number is often lower than the monthly listeners shown on your profile, which also includes streams from programmed contexts.
Release
Only new, original albums and EPs. Singles, re-releases (deluxe editions, remasters, etc.) and compilations are excluded.
If there are multiple main artists, only the first-named artist can create the page, and it will only appear on their profile.
Split-rights releases are currently only supported to a limited extent.
Creating a Countdown page
This is possible for admins and editors:
In Spotify for Artists, select the release under Music → Upcoming
Click Get started
Optionally add countdown videos and merch
Review and publish
The option becomes available around 72 hours after the release has been delivered. The page can be edited at any time until the release date. The number of pre-saves can be viewed under Upcoming → View Analytics.
