Distribution in the music industry refers to the process of bringing music productions to the audience. This includes physical formats such as CDs and vinyl, as well as digital formats such as downloads and streaming.

Digital distribution is particularly important nowadays, as it makes music available through digital platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and Deezer. This not only includes the sale of individual tracks, but also availability on streaming services, which provide a continuous source of income. Digital distribution is usually cheaper and faster than physical distribution, as no physical copies need to be produced or distributed.
