Spotify Discovery Mode is a tool for reaching new listeners. Artists and labels can specify which of their songs have the highest priority. This information is then transmitted to the algorithms that compile personalised music sessions (e.g. Spotify Radio, Autoplay, your mixtapes & artist mixtapes). This increases the likelihood that the prioritised songs will be recommended.
However, this only works if the fans like it. Spotify's algorithm remembers how a listener interacts with a song and takes this into account when making further recommendations.
Get started: Set up Spotify Discovery Mode
Criteria for using Discovery Mode in Spotify For Artists:
You have at least 3 eligible songs
You have at least 25,000 monthly listeners
You have an active Spotify for Artists team registered in one of the countries listed here
Requirements for the selection of your track:
The song was released on Spotify at least 30 days ago
It has been streamed at least 20 times in the context of Discovery Mode in the last 28 days
It has met Spotify's monetisation requirements in the last month
Good to know: Spotify retains 30% of the streaming revenue generated via Discovery Mode.
