Some download stores and streaming platforms allow artists to create, edit and sometimes also verify their own artist profiles. Find more information here:

Spotify

Once your release has been delivered to Spotify, you can create a Spotify for Artists account and verify your Artist Page. This works even before the actual release date. With a verified account you can show your fans that you are the real deal. The access to Spotify for Artists offers you the following benefits:

  • Customize your appearance on Spotify by uploading a profile picture, bio, and adding your social media links.

  • Get access to comprehensive insights and statistics about your music and its listeners on Spotify.

  • Pitch your new songs for playlists.

  • Showcase your Artist Pick, a track/album/playlist/podcast you love, at the top of your profile and add a background image and a short comment.

  • Feature and share playlists on your profile.

  • Promote your tours and concerts.

  • Sell your merchandise.

This is how it works:

Via Spotify:

Using your URI Artist Page link and private Spotify account, you can easily verify yourself directly through Spotify. This works even before the actual release date.

  1. After you have received the delivery confirmation of the release by mail, ask us at [email protected] for your URI Artist Page Link. (Please tell us the artist name and/or the GTIN of the release. You can find the GTIN under "My Music" > Release > the long number next to "GTIN").

  2. Open this link and log in with your private Spotify account (through which you listen to music):
    https://artists.spotify.com/c/access

  3. Then just paste the URI Artist Page link, you will be redirected and get access.

Via your recordJet account:

You can also verify your Spotify for Artists account directly through your recordJet account. However, this will only work after the first release of this artist.

  1. Enter your Spotify Artist ID in the recordJet Artists profile. You can get there by calling up the artist in the Artist Hub and then going to "Artist Profile" and entering the ID in "Spotify Artist ID". (The Spotify Artist ID is the long letter/character string at the end of your URI Artist Page link. Learn how to get your URI Artist Page link here: https://support.symdistro.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039036711-Spotify-How-to-obtain-a-URI-URL)
This way you can also make sure that all future releases of this artist will always end up on the correct Artist Page.

  2. If no releases with the stored Artist ID have been delivered by us yet, you would have to contact us at [email protected] and ask us to send an update of your release to Spotify, otherwise our system will not recognize that a release has already been released with this Artist ID.

  3. In your recordJet account, click on "Spotify for Artist" on the left.

  4. Select the corresponding artist in the dropdown menu.

  5. You will be verified without any waiting time and get access to your Spotify for Artists account.

You can see that your artist profile is verified by the blue checkmark next to your artist name on Spotify. In the Spotify for Artists section, you can also share your photos, add a bio, and manage playlists after verification. Spotify for Artists also provides you with a lot of data and statistics about your streams and your listeners on your dashboard.

Tip: Share your verified account and your playlists by clicking on the three little dots -> Share -> "Copy embed code" directly in the Spotify player in your browser. With the embed code you can embed a Spotify player directly into your website or blog.

Apple Music / iTunes / Shazam

Apple Music for Artists gives you everything you need to understand the impact of your music on Apple Music, iTunes, and Shazam. On your profile, you can upload your own artist image and get the ability to track how your music is performing in the store, where listeners are discovering your music, and in which countries your music is doing particularly well. Apple has also integrated the ability to create and upload iTunes Artist Images into Apple Music for Artists, which means you can now do it yourself.

This is how it works:

  1. Click here to log in to Apple Music for Artists with your personal Apple ID and password. If you don't have an Apple ID yet, you can create one there.
(Your Apple ID is the account you use to sign in to Apple services like App Store, Apple Music, iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, etc.).

  2. Once you are logged in, click on "Request artist access" to continue.

  3. In the next steps you can request access to the Artist Page for you or your band.

  4. If you have any questions or problems, please read the instructions from Apple Music for Artists Support first and contact them here if necessary.

Deezer

If you want to have access to Deezer for Creators, you must first have published a release on Deezer. Only then can you easily sign up and verify your artist ID.

Deezer for Creators offers these benefits to artists who publish on the platform:

  • "Go behind the scenes to analyze and understand your streams"
Through Analytics, you get access to streaming figures, the amount of unique listeners, favorited content, and top playlists that you’re featured in. This will help to understand what marketing actions should be performed around a new release and identify the streaming activity of your content

  • "Discover who is listening to help you connect with your audience"
For each of your releases, you’ll get access to audience demographics, such as top countries, age, gender, subscription plan, and devices that are used to listen to you. This can help you to identify key cities for your tours, optimize your marketing campaign, and get closer to your listeners

  • "Curate your artist profile to highlight what is important"
In the artist edition section, you’ll be able to edit your artist page on Deezer. You can update your profile picture and add a bio and social media links. You can also highlight specific content, such as a playlist you’ve created or an album you’d like your listeners to know about

This is how it works:

  1. Select "SIGN UP".

  2. On the Who you are screen, select "An artist".

  3. Enter your name and email address.

  4. Select "CREATE MY ACCOUNT".

A confirmation email will be sent to you.

  5. Within the email, select "CREATE A PASSWORD".

  6. Enter a password and then re-enter it in the "Confirm password" field.

  7. Select "CREATE A PASSWORD".

  8. Log in with your credentials.

  9. Select "START A NEW REQUEST".

  10. Within "Artist name", enter your artist name or ID and then select it from the list.
(Tip: We recommend entering your artist ID if you’re struggling to find your artist name)

  11. Within "UPC", enter the GTIN of your release.
(You can find the GTIN under "My Music" > Release > the long number next to "GTIN")

  12. Select "CONTINUE".

  13. Enter your social media information. The more details you give us the easier it will be for Deezer to validate your request.

  14. Select "SEND REQUEST". Normally the verification only takes two to three business days.

There is also the possibility to sign up as a manager, label, provider or podcaster at Deezer for Creators. You can find more information here:

Amazon Music

Just like Spotify and Apple Music, you can verify your Amazon Music Artist Page via the Amazon Music for Artists website. This analytics tool is also available as an app for iOS and Android devices.

Once you're verified, you can see the performance of your music on Amazon Music, which now has a total of about 55 million users. In the app you'll find the usual stats: Number of streams, near real-time activity data, geographic information about your audience, playlist popularity, and more.

This is how it works:

  1. Amazon Music for Artists is available in both a web version and a mobile app.

    1. To use the app, go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store on your mobile device and download Amazon Music for Artists.

  2. Once you open the app, you'll be prompted to sign in using your Amazon account. If you don't have an account yet, you'll need to create one to complete the sign-up process and complete the request process.

  3. Search for and select your artist.

  4. Go to "Request this artist".

  5. Enter the name of your artist.

  6. At the "Role" item you can select "Artist".

  7. Enter as much information about your artist as possible under "More Info". For example, social media links, etc.

  8. You should receive a response from Amazon after about 14 days at the latest.

TikTok

TikTok offers you the possibility to change your normal account into an artist account, which has several advantages:

  • You can activate your MusicTab - this used to be displayed as a note symbol on the profiles, now it says "Music" as a heading above it.

  • You can pin new songs at the top of the list - this has the advantage that users quickly become aware of your new songs.

  • If you deliver a new track via your digital distributor, TikTok will mark it as "New".

And this is how it goes:

You can read about how to apply for this Artist Certification here or simply follow the steps below:

  1. Open your TikTok app and go to Creator Tools. Here you will find the menu item "Artist Hub". As soon as you open the item, you can click on the button "apply".

  2. Now you can search for your artist name and songs in the TikTok music library. When you have found your profile, click on "Claim".

  3. Now you have to prove that you are the artist you want to claim. TikTok offers different ways to prove this, e.g. screenshots of your account of your music distributor, or screenshots from your Spotify for Artists or Apple Music for Artists account. It is important that the screenshots show that you are the artist.

  4. TikTok will now check your application - if everything is correct, you will receive an artist account. Now you will see "Artist" under your name in your profile and you will have access to your MusicTab.

From time to time it can happen that the stores assign the release of a new artist to a wrong artist page. This usually happens because of a similar or identical spelling of the artist name.

In this case, please fill out the following form and we will take care of a correction: My release has been assigned incorrectly and I don't have my own artist page yet.

If you have any questions or difficulties, please feel free to contact us at [email protected].
